Obviously my experience over the last few years has been almost exclusively on Wikipedia and not Wikimedia. I was unaware that copyright violations were ok and not an issue over on Wikimedia. So for clarification, unlike on Wikipedia, I am able to upload any image I want, regardless of copyright status, so long as I add a tag saying I own it or whoever owns it has released it under an appropriate license? Obviously copyright law is the same, but I am wondering if Wikimedia is really that unconcerned with the copyright status of files uploaded here? I don't check Wikimedia unless I have a reason to, so any response would be much more quickly seen by myself and responded to on my Wikipedia [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Aaron_Booth talk page] rather than on here.
