::The same to you (somewhat belatedly, I fear); my apologies for the delay in responding. The savings in file size mostly come from manually removing superfluous code such as Inkscape and other programs tend to add to SVGs. I'm using Notepad++, but any plain text editor will do. [[:File:Flagge Königreich Württemberg.svg]] is not a bad example; you can view the source code of the pre- and post-cleanup versions for an illustration of this sort of thing. (If you like, I can certainly go into more detail on the cleanup process and the specific code that's safe to remove; let me know if you'd find it useful.) :::Oh it seems, I wasn't here for a while. But I'm not in a hurry. Indeed, I'd like to learn more about the code-things. I often think, that there is much uninteresting bullshit written in the files that blows up the filesize unnecessary. But if I erase some lines of code, it mostly causes the destruction of the picture. What would you for instance change on [[:File:Wappen Lerchenberg.svg|this file]]? I can remove ('''') and (''sodipodi:docname="Lerchenberg.svg"'') but what else is "safe to remove" as you say?
