At the time, roadworks were taking place on Leeson Road, meaning Southern Vectis route 3 buses couldn't get from Ventnor to Shanklin. As a result, all buses ran until Ventnor Middle School, before turning around to go back through Wroxall and Whitely Bank to Shanklin. A shuttle service was provided for everyone in Ventnor to travel up to Ventnor Middle School to either change buses for Newport or Shanklin.
