I started finally to rename the road/rail crossings from RPn to SKRZ-Gn. So far two of the busiest, SKRZ-G2o and SKRZ-G4o are replaced in the diagrams in use, in several wikipedias (leaving a few catch-all pages, as intended). However I see that they both are still linked from many other commons pages, due to the derivatives' links — unlike the use in diagrams, these are called by full name and as such could be relinked by bots. Yet they are listed (along many other BS icons) at User:CommonsDelinker/commands/byHand. This means that all BSicon use should be relinked by hand when renaming, when for actual occurrences of the full filename (as opposed to template calls)? That seems to be needlessly demanding of us humans. -- Tuválkin ✉ 00:56, 14 May 2012 (UTC)

:I believe that all BSicon renaming requests are tagged "by hand" by default, specifically because bots can't handle the short-form links in the templates. Would it be possible for someone to create a bot that can tell the difference between a full-name link and a template link? ::Well, I believe that usual file-renaming bots don’t even notice that the BS templates are calling those SVGs at all, so we should just use them to delink/relink wherever BS icons are used in the usual way images are in wp, and mannually fix what is not catched by the bots. -- Tuválkin ✉ 08:21, 15 May 2012 (UTC)

::I removed that request to treat all BSicon delinking «by hand», so that uses in file pages need not to be done manually. But most usage is in diagrams, called by templates by partial filename, and thus invisible to the delinker bot, so of course we should always check global usage and here-links (and fix them manually) before requesting a deletion. -- Tuválkin ✉ 13:59, 2 January 2013 (UTC)
