:Good question. While I confess that I didnt introduce that naming incongruence on purpose, both approaches can be argued for and have analogous cases in track icons, such as {{BS-q|exhACCa}} ''vs.'' {{BS-q|BRÜCKEa}}.

:I would favour always using "h", even in situations that it is a pleaonasm ("o" already indicates a bridge and "a"/"e" that it extends), unless there’s a good reason not to.

::Well, I'm of the opinion that the simpler approach would have been to make {{BS-q|BRÜCKEa}} into a h- name instead {{bsq|hSTRa}}. Indeed now that RPx is no longer the base root used for rail-road crossing the -oW suffix is mostly superfluous: if we substitute RPx for STR, these icons are (on the pattern of {{bs-q|hWSTR}}):
