He masters the skills and techniques of composition ranging from the renaissance ,via symphonic orchestral works to modern music, popular music and jazz. He also crafts his own instruments. The ”Kvanndoo” is one of his inventions. Kjell grew up in a family of professional classical musicians. His mother flutist Professor Emeritus Gro Schibsted Sandvik and his father violinist Rolf Sandvik played an highly important role in the development of his musical skills. His sister pianist Anne N Sandvik, brothers cellist Audun A Sandvik and violinist Erlend N Sandvik all have their profession as musicians. Kjell MG S Sandvik is also a sound therapist, freediver instructor, athlete, nature enthusiast, personal trainer and lifestyle coach. Kjell has extended knowledge and experience in the fields of gastronomy and natural dietary awareness. As a personal trainer Kjell coach and teach natural organic ways of exercising and eating, combined with a healthy mindset. He works with the focus on producing and maintaining a positive lifestyle and longevity for his clients and students. Kjell loves the challenges of the extreme.

Kjell has transformed the natural hollow plant Kvann (Lat. [[Angelica archangelica|Angelica Archangelica]]) into a instrument and given it the name Kvanndoo, inspired by the Didgeridoo. The plant appears thus in a new form as an ancient spiritually inspired instrument.
