New page Tears of the Dying was formed on July 16, 2007. Joe "Dogg" Snider-vocals, David Vought-bass, Jerod Richardson (Jay Scary)-lead guitar and vocals, and Vic Dinino-drums were the original four members of the band. The lineup only lasted a few months because of personal issues with Vic and David. Joe Dogg and Jay Scary decided to recruit long time friend and former Tribe of the Trees band member Rocky Johnson to play bass. Joe Dogg, Jay Scary, and Rocky Johnson had been friends since Jr. High and had played in different bands together over the years. Now that a solid foundation was beginning to set they started auditioning drummers.
Adam Marcum of Point Pleasant WV was recruited to join the band on October 12, 2008 as the new drummer for Tears of the Dying. The band went to Red Room studios in Mason Wv the following January to record a demo album. Tears of the Dying played a string of shows with Adam and after lack of motivation and blowing off quite a few band rehearsals, Adams stint with the band had come to an end.
Josh Billings of Point Pleasant WV was suggested to Tears of the Dying by band manager and friend Jeff Bro/d Rife and they set up an audition. After a series of rehearsals, Josh billings was inducted into the band. Steven Lucian Brumfield had also joined the band around this time as the second guitarist. After doing several shows opening for national bands such as Bobaflex, Dope, The Autumn Offering, Soil, and Flaw, Josh had to leave the band because of other family obligations. Tears of the Dying has always stuck together but for some reason they have had nothing but problems keeping a drummer.
Tears of the Dying wasn't about to throw in the towel. It just so happens that singer Joe Dogg is one awesome drummer. Joe Dogg picked up dual roles as singer and drummer. Joe Dogg would record vocal and percussion parts on demos and live. This was a short term fix so they could continue. Zach Cross joined Tears of the Dying on November 15, 2011. The band was finally a complete unit once again. In the summer of 2012, Tears of the Dying embarked on a tour that spanned several states including Pennsylvania, Ohio, and West Virginia. They couldn't have asked for a tighter group of musicians. Tears of the Dying Self-titled 13 song album is going to be released in late March early April 2013 with a follow up e.p. titled 661. The 661 e.p.will be released in 2 seperate volumes totaling 13 songs. Ill Will Dinino, brother of Vic Dinino, a rap artist from the Ghost Smokers will be performing a remix of the song "Bastard". This is one of Tears of the Dying's earliest recorded tracks.
