This photograph was used by coroners J.H. Barnstead and Charles W. Benjamin to identify Body No. 18 as Mr. William Carbines of Higher Stennack, St. Ives, [[:en:Cornwall|Cornwall]], [[:en:England|England]]. Carbines was a 19-year-old second-class passenger on the Titanic. When his body was recovered, this heavily water-stained photograph, along with a silver watch and chain, coins, pipe, knife and personal papers, was found on the body. Carbines was travelling to Calumet, [[:en:Michigan|Michigan]] to join his brothers. His body was returned to England for burial.}}
