This old Ming bowl, from the Danish ship, The Crown Princess of Denmark, was given to Esias Meyer by the Captain of the ship, Svend Finger, for assisting the crea after the ship shipwrecked at Mossel Bay, South Africa in 1752. (readers comment: To me, this sounds utter unlikey. This is much more likely a pretty recent creation as in a new flower pot. The "Ming dynasty" also ended in 1644. 1752 would also be almost 100 years into the following Qing dynasty, actually mid Qianlong (1736-95) period).
