It was new to Plymouth City Transport, numbered 158 and entering service from Milehouse depot. Along with sister vehicles 159 (WJY 759) and 160 (WJY 760), in April 1975 it was converted to an open top bus for summer season public transport services, latter being named ''Plymouth Adventurer'' and receiving a yellow & white livery. In 1978 it was renumbered 458 to free up fleet numbers for new Atlanteans being delivered to Plymouth. It lasted in open top service into the Plymouth CityBus era, receiving an updated yellow & white livery, but in its latter years wearing a special allover advertising livery promoting local attractions. 458 was eventually withdrawn in July 1991 after its normal work had been taken over by Guide Friday's Plymouth Tour and Western National's route 17.

In 2003 it was rescued by the Keighley Bus Museum Trust who, after a 12 month restoration, put it to work in a fictional Keighley identity.
