*I disagree, we don't need more instructions for new users. We had a wall of text before and no one actually read it. We have a serious problem with instruction creep and also one with intuitive workflows. This problem is so bad that the WMF had to force it upon us and from here, that's not actually a bad thing. ::A "wall of text" is not the same as a few concise and targeted instructions to deal with an arguably serious problem. That said, I get what you're saying.
