:So the idea will be that I upload these files to some language versions? Maybe someone can help uploading it to other language versions? Or should I upload them to a web page and put a link to that web page on the wiki pages formerly using this file? I still find it quite exaggerated to delete the files in this category.--Karl Brodowsky (talk) 21:32, 27 March 2013 (UTC)

:Ok, I have uploaded the files here: http://www.velofahren.de/e_North-Cape-Globe.html, in case someone likes to add them to language specific wikipedias.--Karl Brodowsky (talk) 22:01, 27 March 2013 (UTC)

::In the USA, whose rules we must satisfy, there is essentially no threshold of originality for sculpture, painting, and the other fine arts. The US Copyright Office has registered copyrights in objects as simple as a large rectangular slab of steel, set in the earth at a slight angle. The steel was Corten, so that surface finish was entirely up to the elements. I think that further research in Norway is likely to turn up similar cases -- copyright offices seem to be more inclusive when it comes to pure art than they are with respect to logos, commercial art and utilitarian objects such as chairs. I'd give you very long odds that this globe would have a copyright in the USA and I would be very surprised if it did not have one in Norway. . Jim . . . .
