:I've used [[Template:Rename]] to request the renaming files in the past, and I'm familiar with [[Commons:File_renaming]]. I'm a Commons contributor in good standing, and [http://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special%3ALog&type=rights&page=User%3AMichaeldsuarez I've been entrusted with the "autopatrol" bit]. I haven't been the center of any major issue for several months, and I don't want to cause any issues. The disputes that I want involved in the past didn't involve renaming files. I would like to start by fixing [http://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?search=chuch a bunch of misspellings]. Disclosure: [http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special%3ALog&type=block&page=User%3AMichaeldsuarez I was banned from enwiki last summer], but I hope to return to enwiki as a positive contributor with ArbCom's approval this upcoming summer. I don't believe that my ban from enwiki will substantially impair my ability to rename files, just as [http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special%3ALog&type=block&page=User%3ARussavia Russavia's ban from enwiki] didn't significantly impair his ability to be a sysop here.
