This ticket was the basis for closing a [[Commons:Deletion requests/File:Jules Benoit-Lévy. "Pelant des pommes de terre".JPG|DR]] and retaining [[:File:Jules Benoit-Lévy. "Pelant des pommes de terre".JPG]]. The OTRS ticket merely indicates that the uploader purchased a copy of the painting on Ebay (not even the actual painting!) and thus believes he also has the copyrights (of course, something completely separate from mere property rights). Owning a DVD, for example, does not allow one to license the film thereon. I'd like a second opinion, as it seems like poor judgement to me. Jules Benoit-Lévy died in 1952 and, accordingly, his work would not be PD in France (pma + 70) until 2022. Unless we had a document that indicates Benoit-Lévy or his heirs conveyed ''copyrights'' to the uploader, the ticket is meaningless. :Although the ticket contains a valid version of the well known permission statement, I second the opinion that it only applies to the photograph, not to the shown artwork. I will reopen the ticket. --[[User:Krd|Krd]] 13:49, 21 March 2013 (UTC)
