There is no evidence that the copyright on this ''composition'' was renewed. This song was not used for only one film; it had been used for other black-and-white Mickey Mouse cartoons before "The Mad Doctor." Just like Mickey Mouse himself is copyrighted despite appearing in two films that ended up becoming PD, so it should be assumed that this composition remains under copyright despite the fact that one of the films that used it has fallen into the public domain.
