***I have no idea what that means. Wikimedia is not above the law. Courts have ruled that if "skill and judgment" are exercised by the author in creating the map, as opposed to a mere embodiment of the fact involving no judgment, then it's copyrightable. Just like in the court case I cited, this author reconciled several different sources (he names several studies, as well as the unpublished notes of B. Rogers, as his sources of information) and he created these maps from his research.
