Per the archive.org source, this was indeed published in a French work before 1923 and is thus PD ''in the US''. However, per [[COM:L]], works must be PD in ''both'' the US and the country of origin. France does not consider publication date, but instead the date of the author's death. Emilie Desjeux died in 1957 and, accordingly, this will not be PD in France until 2027. (See also [[Commons:Deletion requests/File:Jules Benoit-Lévy. "Pelant des pommes de terre".JPG]] for a similar situation). Image could perhaps be moved to en.wiki or another project that only cares about US status, but it can't remain here.
