*:I was just using the ''identify'' command from Imagemagick to get the pixel size of the images, subtracting 138 from the height, then scripting ''jpegtran'' to crop to that size. I agree that the metadata is important. I'm going to look into the ''exiftran'' program. "It can do lossless rotations like jpegtran, but unlike jpegtran it cares about the EXIF data," says the man page.
